1. About Gleana
Gleana is a marketplace platform connecting Victorian farmers with B2B buyers and food rescue organisations for surplus produce. By using our platform, you agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and operating within Victoria, Australia to use Gleana. Farmers must hold appropriate food safety certifications for the produce they list.
3. Fees
- Farmers: Free to list and sell. Zero platform fees.
- Buyers: A 10% platform fee is applied to each purchase, charged at checkout.
- Food rescue organisations: Always free. No fees for donated produce.
4. Listings and AI Grading
Gleana uses AI to assist with produce identification and quality grading. All AI-generated listings require your approval before going live. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings and must correct any errors before confirming.
5. Dispatch and Routing
Gleana uses a tiered dispatch system: produce is first offered to commercial buyers at your listed price. If unsold within the listing window, it may be routed to food rescue organisations as a donation (with your consent). Donors are protected under the Wrongs Act 1958 (Vic) food donor provisions.
6. Payments
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Farmers receive the full listing price directly. Gleana does not deduct any amount from farmer proceeds.
7. Limitation of Liability
Gleana facilitates connections between parties but is not responsible for the quality, safety, or delivery of produce. Transactions are between the farmer and the buyer/rescue organisation.
